Luis Cousin, MD
About Luis
Dr. Cousin started at CommuniCare+OLE in December 2022. He received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota at Minneapolis in 1983. He completed his undergraduate degree in Zoology in 1976 at the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to coming to CommuniCare+OLE, Dr. Cousin worked in private practice in Bakersfield California until December 2021. In the interim period he worked for La Clinica de la Raza in Vallejo California. Dr. Cousin is Board Certified in Family Medicine and has special interest in the treatment of Endocrine disorders as well as Cardiovascular disorders.
My approach to care
My approach to care is to treat each patient with respect and dignity while taking a comprehensive approach to their medical problems.
Why I went into healthcare
Since early childhood, I have wanted to pursue medicine in order to help everyone in need of medical care, regardless of their ability to pay. I prioritize medical knowledge by dedicating a significant amount of time staying current through medical education courses in order to always meet the standard of care for all my patients.
Something you might not know about me
Something you might not know about me is that I was born in El Salvador and emigrated to the United States in 1965 at the age of 13. I love to travel, collects wines, entertain my grandchildren at home and walk my dog.
