The COVID-19 Pandemic Continues —
Be Prepared.

COVID-19

We have all been living with the COVID-19 pandemic since 2020. Unfortunately, we are still dealing with it today. Here are some important tips and resources to help keep you safe as we learn to live with COVID-19.

Get Vaccinated and Boosted

Vaccines are still our best protection against serious illness from COVID-19. The vaccine is free and widely available. Vaccines are approved for ages 6 months and older.

Upgrade Your Mask

Cloth masks are not very effective protection against recent variants. Switch to a surgical mask, KN95, or N95 mask. Make sure your mask fully covers your nose and mouth and is fitted to your face.

The California Department of Public Health has some helpful masking information on its website.

If You’re Exposed or Exhibiting Symptoms

If you have recently been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or have developed symptoms, get tested and try to isolate until you know your status. Symptoms may include headaches, body aches, cough, sore throat, runny nose, congestion, loss of taste or smell, fever/chills, and fatigue.

Home tests are available at pharmacies and online.

You can also find testing sites in your area:

If You Test Positive

You do not need to contact OLE Health to retest. Instead, make sure you:

  • Isolate for 5 days and stay home, except to seek medical care
  • Separate yourself from other people as much as possible and wear a mask for 5 days after the isolation when around others.
  • Wash your hands often
  • Clean “high-touch” surfaces daily

Remember, you can be contagious about 2 days before your symptoms started or the date of your positive test and for up to 10 days after.
