About Jamie
Jamie Bongiovi started at OLE health in 2015. She received her Master of Social Work degree from Marywood University and completed her BA in Biology at Kean University. She is a licensed clinical social worker. Prior to coming to CommuniCare+OLE Health, Jamie worked as director of a large outpatient mental health program in Bethlehem, PA.
My approach to care
My care philosophy is to maintain a trauma-informed approach and always be humbled by a person’s courage to tell their story.
Why I went into healthcare
I became a clinical social worker/therapist because for too long the focus on health was physical. The opportunity to help others understand that mental health and physical health are tightly entwined, that we all have mental health, that for all of us to be well we need to minimize the stigma of mental health, was a motivating factor in becoming a behavioral health provider.
Something you might not know about me
I have not eaten meat since 1988, except for one bite of my mother’s delicious meat balls once per year. And, my husband and I have 7 adult children in our beautifully blended family.
