About Janina Mae
Janina Bernas started at CommuniCare+OLE in 2021. She received her B.S. Nutrition and Food, emphasis in Dietetics from CSU Sacramento in 2017. Prior to coming to CommuniCare+OLE, she recently completed her dietetic internship at Nutrition Ink, where she worked with patients/clients with various health conditions. She has also worked as a behavioral technician, working with children with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) prior to becoming a Registered Dietitian. She currently specializes in providing general nutrition education.
My approach to care
My approach to care is providing the materials and support patients need to be successful in their nutrition goals.
Why I went into healthcare
I became a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist because I’ve always been interested in food and how food affects the body. As someone who has also grown up in an underserved community, I have always wanted to help people who need guidance, especially when it comes to their overall health.
Something you might not know about me
I was born and grew up in another country, the Philippines, and that I love trying new foods.
