Flora R. Asuncion

Flora Asuncion comes to OLE Health with nearly 40 years of experience in healthcare transformation and a passion for serving her community. She began her career with the hospital system, UniHealth, Inc. in Southern California where she was eventually promoted to Director for Mergers and Acquisitions. Under her leadership, the organization acquired 14 medical group practices. In 1998, she joined Kaiser Permanente, where she drove financial and operational improvements in various leadership roles that included Director for Performance Improvement, Chief Area Finance Officer and Regional Director for Enterprise Resource Management. In 2011, Flora was offered an opportunity with the Cleveland Clinic to help set up its first hospital’s Revenue Cycle for International patients in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. When her appointment ended with the Cleveland Clinic, she remained abroad, assuming the role of Assistant Managing Director under Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health. In this executive role, she led the country’s health care transformation, creating an emphasis on primary care and establishing specialists’ centers and frameworks for disaster preparedness and response. In August 2020, Flora returned to the United States took on the role as COO at Cares/One Community Health, an FQHC in Sacramento. Flora holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from University of Santo Tomas and an Executive MBA from St. Mary’s College of California. She is married and has two college-aged children.
