Community rallies in support of OLE Health

The Community of Napa Valley Helped OLE Health Exceed its Crowdfunding Goal for a New Community Health Center

Napa – January 9, 2017 – Just in time to finish the busy year of 2016 on a note of hope, the staff of OLE Health saw the community fundraising total for the new South Napa Health Center swell past the goal of $100,000 to $104,544. Hundreds of people donated towards the construction of the new community health center that will create healthcare access for more than 15,000 new patients.

OLE Health launched the community crowdfunding campaign, named Building Better Napa, this past August with an aim to galvanize community support for the desperately needed new health center with donations ranging from $1 to $5000. The longstanding local non-profit was hopeful that members of the community of Napa Valley would answer the call to donate towards a capital campaign to build a community health center in the rapidly expanding South Napa region.

OLE Health’s vision of “offering the services patients need, when and where they need them,” inspired its approach to the community crowdfunding campaign. The organization made use of everything from a crowdfunding website and social media to Spanish-language media and donation boxes at its various locations throughout Napa Valley. OLE surveyed patients, staff, board members, and community members for input on the Building Better Napa community campaign and met face to face with supporters at neighborhood stores.

OLE Health, which has served the Napa Valley for nearly 45 years, also incorporated images of the familiar Napa agricultural landscape, farmworkers, families, and seniors that reflect the local community and patients to promote the fundraising campaign. The organization aspired to empower and welcome everyone in Napa Valley to participate and donate, acknowledging contributions of every amount as meaningful.

“We are humbled by the generosity of this community, it really speaks to the legacy this organization has created for itself here in Napa County.” says Tanir Ami, Chief Executive Officer at OLE Health. “OLE has been a Napa County institution for the past 44 years, built with the spirit of delivering great health care for those that needed it most, and our community has always supported that.”
